The role includes performance evaluations, coaching, caseload coverage as needed, development of program schedules, crisis direction, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and family support.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in behavioral science or related human service field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ direct clinical experience is required.
  • Professional license is preferred. For Ocean Drive a professional license is required.
  • Certified as a qualified supervisor preferred. CCS certification is preferred. Expectation is to obtain CCS or CAC Diplomat within 2 years.

Clinical Director Renaissance and Older Adult Population
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Clinical Director is responsible for oversight and supervision of clinical staff assigned to them in accordance with Federal and state licensing entities and with accrediting bodies (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities – CARF, DDAP, DCF, AHCA).
  • Responsible for individual and group supervision of those assigned.
  • Develops and monitors measurable goals for those they supervise. Conducts performance evaluations and provides continuous and regular feedback on performance including achievement of timely documentation, competencies and goals. Responsible for the development of performance improvement plans and / or corrective coaching for staff they supervise.
  • Manages direct report’s schedules, task assignments, time sheets and time out of office to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Responsible to carry a partial caseload of patients when needed. Conducts individual, group and family sessions ensuring timely completion of documentation.
  • Provides counseling to individual patients and their families – selecting and applying counseling theories in accordance with cultural, gender, lifestyle and age.
  • Attends multi-disciplinary and administrative meetings.
  • Responsible for the coordination of services for the patient and family.
  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of a daily program schedule; its design, refinement, and any modifications with approval from the Executive / Senior Clinical Director and/or management team.
  • Regularly provides psychoeducational and therapeutic presentations and co-facilitates groups as needed.
  • Meets individually with clients when deemed clinically appropriate and provides clinical direction in crisis situations as needed. Troubleshoots grievances and assists in investigation of clinical incident reports.
  • Utilizes Caron’s strategic plan when further developing staff and program. Supports clinical leadership in creating functional strategies to support the program infrastructure.
  • Oversees patient, family and referral satisfaction, recommending improvements based on the clinical needs of the population.
  • Serves as a resource to unit supervisors and lead therapists for assistance with staff remedial training and professional development.
  • Serves as the point-person for public speaking events related to the programs.
  • Serves as a leader of multi-disciplinary treatment team. This includes being an active supervisor to their team; collaborating with interventions and extended referrals to ensure consistent internal and external customer service.
  • Assures strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, included, but not limited to staff, referents, and families. Identifies needs that are beyond the scope of care offered by Caron and communicates to referent and appropriate parties.
  • Plays an active role in program development and enhancement.
  • Serves as the liaison between Clinical, Marketing, Finance, Continuing Care and other departments. Co-facilitates case management of specific referrals to ensure continuity of care and thorough communication. Collaborates with key departments to resolve problems as necessary.
  • Assists with hiring, orientation, and training of clinical staff.
  • Reviews treatment plans and ensures that patients are receiving the necessary care, signs documentation as a qualified professional.
  • Must respond to after hour/issues and concerns in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to work extended hours.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including travel by auto and air to conduct business for Caron.

  • Must be able to deliver presentations that may be both multiple times and for lengthy time periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in behavioral science or related human service field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ direct clinical experience is required.
  • Professional license is preferred. For Ocean Drive a professional license is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certified as a qualified supervisor preferred. CCS certification is preferred. Expectation is to obtain CCS or CAC Diplomat within 2 years.
  • If in recovery, 2 years continuous sobriety preferred.
