Job summary

  • Experience in child and adolescent mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight of all treatment services including individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Supervise licensed clinicians, social services staff, and program leads.
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based, trauma-informed care and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee treatment planning, documentation quality, and outcomes.
  • Partner with Medical Director and Nursing leadership for integrated care.
  • Develop and implement new programs as the facility grows.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance and quality indicators.
  • Lead audits, chart reviews, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in hiring and ongoing staff development.

Facility Overview – View Behavioral Health Child, Colton View Behavioral Health (VBH) Child, is a behavioral health campus providing acute psychiatric care and crisis stabilization services. Our Child & Adolescent program offers a safe, structured environment focused on stabilization, evidence-based treatment, and family-centered care. As we expand, the campus will include adult services, supporting a full continuum of care for the communities we serve.

Position Summary

The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall clinical leadership, program development, and quality of patient care services within the Child & Adolescent psychiatric facility. This role ensures the delivery of evidence-based, trauma-informed care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. The Clinical Director oversees all clinical programming and supervises multidisciplinary treatment teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight of all treatment services, including individual, group, and family therapy
  • Supervise and support licensed clinicians, social services staff, and program leads
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and age-appropriate interventions
  • Oversee treatment planning, documentation quality, and clinical outcomes
  • Partner with Medical Director and Nursing leadership to ensure integrated patient care
  • Develop and implement new programs and service lines as the facility grows
  • Ensure compliance with DHCS, Joint Commission,and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Monitor key performance indicators including LOS, readmissions, and patient outcomes
  • Lead clinical audits, chart reviews, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Participate in hiring, training, and ongoing development of clinical staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, with at least 2 years in leadership
  • Experience in child and adolescent mental health required
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
  • Demonstrated sound professional judgment; clinical judgment where applicable to licensure/role.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and standard keyboard functions for data entry and electronic documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Current CPR, BLS, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within90 days of employment
  • Demonstrate understanding and compliance with Patients' Rights, LPS Statutes, and Seclusion and Restraint Protocols.

  • Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), The Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards
  • Compliance with all required health screenings and immunizations in accordance with regulatory guidelines and facility policy, which may include tuberculosis (TB) testing, N95 fit testing, annual trainings, and proof of vaccination for certain communicable diseases
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts as needed, based on operational or patient care needs
