Job summary

USA Health in Mobile, Alabama seeks a registered dietitian to develop and deliver nutrition education, coaching, and clinical care within outpatient services. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in nutrition/dietetics and active Alabama licensure with the CDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree major course work in human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management from an accredited institution (Required)
• Registry with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure with the state of Alabama as a dietitian (Upon Hire) (Required)
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing, and conducting educational programs for staff, patients, and families, in collaboration with physicians and advanced practitioners
• Provide outpatient education and motivational health coaching on topics including weight loss, diet on GLP-1s, and bariatric surgery
• Document assessments, interventions, and plans with approved forms and policies
• Monitor and follow up on patient responses, adjusting care plans in collaboration with providers
• Enter outcome data and assist in evaluating program effectiveness through quality improvement
• Develop collaborative relations with providers, staff, and community health care agencies to support quality care
• Thoroughly document sessions and bill for services according to policies
• Maintain professional growth through seminars and ongoing education
• Complete mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
• Adhere to infection control and safety standards
• Maintain regular attendance and schedule adherence
• Related duties as assigned
