Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management from an accredited institution.
• Registry with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure with the state of Alabama as a dietitian upon hire.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing, and conducting educational programs for staff, patients, and families.
• Provide outpatient education and motivational health coaching to patients individually and in groups (weight loss, diet management on GLP-1s, bariatric surgery).
• Document assessments, interventions, and plans.
• Monitor and adjust plans of care in collaboration with Providers.
• Enter outcome data and contribute to quality improvement measures.
• Develop collaborative relations with Providers and other departments to support quality care.
• Complete mandatory department and hospital requirements and adhere to infection control standards.
