Job description

Are you a certified registered dietitian passionate about delivering exceptional nutritional care, especially to Pennsylvania's most vulnerable populations? The Department of Human Services is seeking a dynamic Clinical Dietitian to join our dedicated dietary services team. In this vital role, you will oversee the planning and organization of nutritional care for residents at Warren State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive patient nutrition care program. Responsibilities include conducting nutritional assessments, providing diet counseling, documenting patient charts, participating in treatment teams, offering discharge counseling, and leading nutritional education initiatives. You will also create modified diets, adjust recipes, and educate individuals and families on key nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, preparation, and storage. Additionally, you will monitor and evaluate food service quality assurance, quality control, and improvement efforts, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Utilizing food service software to ensure diet accuracy as prescribed by physicians is also essential.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment: 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications

Special Requirement: Certification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the American Dietetic Association or proof of eligibility for such certification.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title
  • Ability to perform essential job functions

  • Conditional employment offer requires a medical examination
  • Position falls under the Older Adult Protective Services Act; requires satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance
