Job summary

Encompass Health seeks a dedicated Dietitian to promote health through personalized nutrition plans in our inpatient setting. You will assess patients' nutritional needs, develop dietary plans, and educate on healthy eating, including post-discharge diets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Food & Nutrition required.
• State licensure required to practice as a dietitian.
• Registered dietitian credentials preferred depending on role.
• Strong communication and education skills for patient counseling.
• Experience in clinical dietetics is advantageous.
• Ability to develop and adjust nutritional plans with physician orders.
• Familiarity with documenting in medical records.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients per physician orders and diet instruction.
• Collaborate with physicians and other care team members.
• Evaluate referral orders for adequacy of nutrition intake methods.
• Document pertinent information in the patient’s medical record.
• Implement nutritional care plans and adapt menus for patient needs.
• Conduct calorie counts and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Review, revise, and sign menus for nutritional adequacy.
