Position Summary:

TheClinical Dietitian Specialist in the Neonatal ICUis responsible for-

  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness, maintenance of current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness. Communicates the nutrition plan with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Performing nutrition assessments and identifying nutrition diagnoses; recommending and implementing nutrition care plans based on evidence-based practice. Identifies appropriate nutrition diagnosis and malnutrition criteria. Identifies age-specific physical, psychosocial and cultural needs when carrying out patient activities.
  • Practicing as an expert in the application of the nutrition care process and theory within a specialty area.
  • Documents in the medical record using the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standardized language as part of the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Precepting, teaching, and coordinating learning experiences for dietetic interns/students enrolled in the JHHS dietetic education programs.

  • Supporting the needs of the department/hospital to facilitate essential operations.

Location:Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center,

Shift:

Part-time (20 hours per week)

Hours negotiable with ability to do some hours remotely

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor degree in Nutrition or related fieldfrom an accredited college or university
  • Experience managing parenteral and enteral nutrition for neonates, and calculating custom formula recipes. This may include experience obtained during internship training.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN) in Maryland, or be eligible to apply for licensure prior to hire.
  • CNSC preferred

Salary Range: Minimum$31.92/hour - Maximum$ 52.69/hour.Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
