Job description

Clinical Dietitian - South Okanagan General Hospital

We are seeking a Permanent Full Time Clinical Dietitian at South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, BC.

This position encompasses acute care, home health, and chronic disease management within Oliver and Osoyoos. The Dietitian works Monday to Friday from 08:00-16:00. Restricted Activity A is required for this position to design, compound, or dispense therapeutic diets where nutrition is administered through enteral means.

What will you work on?
Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health. The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader or designate by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program. The Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/client/resident care issues and menu development.

Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
  • Successful completion of an accredited hospital-based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
  • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) [formerly College of Dietitian of British Columbia (CDBC)].
  • One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • Restricted Activity A required.
