Job description

Located in the heart of the Coachella Valley, you have access to resort-style living and world-class amenities throughout Southern California. Provides clinical nutrition services for assigned area(s). Responsible for coordinating and implementing nutrition care of clients and patients with clinical nutrition staff, medical, nursing, and ancillary care professionals.

Job Description:
  • Assess the nutritional status of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients through documentation in the medical record, using parameters such as anthropometric measurements, visual assessment, and interpretation of laboratory values.
  • Develop and revise nutrition care plans based on information from patients, medical records, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Incorporate current evidence-based research into educational materials, chart notes, protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform nutrient intake analysis and adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families through conferences, consultations, and written or electronic communication.
  • Train and mentor staff and interns, and educate Food Service Associates on various diets if applicable.
  • Plan menus and provide community education within area of expertise, including support for community programs and educational series.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Serve as a nutritional care expert within the healthcare team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and complete all documentation timely and professionally.
Qualifications:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree (if hired after March 1, 2025)
  • Required: Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from CDR
  • Required: Riverside County Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certificate upon hire
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare settings, especially with cardiovascular, pulmonary, weight management, or plant-based nutrition
