Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate, evaluate, and develop medical nutrition therapy plans for patients.
• Educate healthcare team members on the science of nutrition.
• Provide nutritional care to patients on assigned units and/or clinics.
• Educate hospital, school, and community groups about nutrition science.
• Screen patients according to need, assign care levels, and perform assessments.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to ensure effective patient care.
• Develop nutrition care plans based on laboratory data and medical diagnoses, documenting findings in medical records within designated timeframes.

Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field from an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved program.
• Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Massachusetts state license (LDN) required for outpatient dietitian positions.

Preferred:

• Massachusetts state license (LDN) preferred for inpatient dietitian positions. Must be license eligible upon hire and obtain LDN within 6 months if not licensed at hire.

Experience/Skills

• Ability to influence patient care quality and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
