Qualifications

• Licensure or other certifications: Registered by Commission for Dietetic Registration. Registered by the state of Georgia.
• Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree for those registered prior to January 1, 2024. Master's degree for those registered January 1, 2024 or after.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and executes appropriate nutritional care of assigned patients/residents. Assesses the nutritional status of pediatric to geriatric patients and neonates as applicable.
• Develops and revises nutritional care plans based on patient info and medical team input for Medical Nutrition Therapy.
• Educates patients and families with appropriate nutritional education to expand knowledge and promote recovery.
• Provides in-service education programs to hospital staff and participates in committees and meetings as appropriate.
• Maintains effective written and verbal communication and completes required documentation in a timely manner.
• Performs Resource/Educator duties and may orient, mentor, and train staff and interns as applicable.
• Adheres to HIPAA, confidentiality, and regulatory standards; participates in Performance Improvement programs.
• Bariatrics: Formulates and executes nutritional counseling for pre-op and post-op bariatric patients.
