Description of Work

  • THIS IS FOR A 20 HOUR, PART TIME POSITION.***

The primary purpose of this position is to provide highly specialized/individualized nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy to persons living at MDC with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses/conditions, including but not limited to dysphagia, swallowing, and feeding difficulties/behaviors, developmental disorders/autism, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic disorders, inborn errors of metabolism, food allergies/intolerances. The primary duties of the Clinical Dietitian include nutritional assessment and documentation for an assigned caseload, meeting attendance, nutrition education/training.

Work Schedule: 20 hours , 3 days per week, Flexible Hours

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies

Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) andcurrent registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR);

OR

Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting.
