An established industry player is seeking a dedicated nutrition professional to join their team at a leading rehabilitation institute. This role involves conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, developing personalized care plans, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics and have completed a Dietetic Internship. This part-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and engage in innovative nutrition-related projects in a supportive environment.
DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is one of the nation’s largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. The Institute houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of only 16 federally designated model systems of care for brain injury care and research. RIM also operates 31 outpatient sites throughout southeast Michigan specializing in sports medicine and orthopedics.

Reports to the Director, DMC Nutrition Services. Conducts nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk to determine appropriate nutrition therapy plans. This includes evaluating medical history, medication/herbal supplement history, anthropometric measurements, lab values, diet history, age-specific factors, cultural and religious practices, and barriers to learning such as physical, emotional, language, cognitive, and motivational factors. Develops Nutrition Care Plans tailored to patient needs, including nutrient requirements and nutrition education. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including medical staff, nursing, speech-language pathology, and other hospital personnel. Records assessments in patient records using DMC-approved documentation.
