Description

As a Clinical Dietitian that practices as an expert in medical nutrition therapy, this individual will work in GI Nutrition with our Digestive Health Clinic patients. This position involves working closely with the interdisciplinary team in the ambulatory setting to guide and support patients nutritionally with their GI therapy, especially with IBS, IBD, gastroparesis, Celiac disease, chronic constipation dyspepsia, dysmotility, short bowel syndrome, chronic pancreatitis, EPI, and eosinophilic esophagitis.

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Dietitian. We prefer three years of experience as a dietitian. Previous work with GI disorders and management of tube feeding and parenteral nutrition preferred. The ideal candidate is interested in working with diverse populations and is comfortable working in-person but also in a telehealth environment. This candidate has a strong interest in education, including teaching, developing patient education materials, and precepting dietetic interns and GI fellows. Excellent communication skills are crucial for both patient education and communication with members of the interdisciplinary team. Spanish speaking a plus.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Education/Experience: Preference for 3 years of clinical nutrition experience with at least 1 year in nutrition support management.

Licensure/Certification: Current registration as a dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $29.54 - $44.31/ hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary

Plans, coordinates, and implements nutrition therapy services for assigned patient populations as a competent-level dietitian.

Responsibilities

Assesses patient's nutritional status and needs, deriving nutrition diagnosis from assessment data.

Develops interventions and plan of care on best available evidence and best practices.

Assesses patient understanding and compliance with nutrition interventions and plan of care. Monitors patient progress; measures and evaluates patient outcomes.

Participates in and coordinates departmental initiatives relative to patient care. May conduct education programs for patients, physicians, nurses, and other health care team members/departments, and/or the public. Functions as a preceptor in support of the academic enterprise.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition or related field.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience in Clinical Nutrition. Preferred: Three years of experience as a dietitian
