Job summary

The Dietitian will work with the healthcare team to ensure regulatory compliance, budget awareness, and high quality patient care, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Foods & Nutrition or qualifying nutrition-related major.
• Maintains continuing education requirements.
• Knowledge of current regulatory-agency standards in area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Nutritional Assessment/Care Plans: assess patients, develop medical nutrition therapy plans and monitor progress.
• Education: counsel patients, train staff, mentor peers and Dietitian’s Assistants.
• Communication: discuss nutrition problems with the healthcare team and document recommendations in the medical record.
• Budget: assist in budget requests and planning, help control costs and minimize waste.
• Safe Food Handling & Sanitation: comply with sanitation standards and perform rounds in kitchen.
