Clinical Dietician III - OC (On-Site) - Irvine, CA

Role Overview: This individual contributor role requires full proficiency in applying established standards. Works independently and may instruct or coach other professionals. Under general supervision, formulates and plans patient menus based on diet requirements in accordance with physician orders and general dietetic standards and rules. May monitor and assign work to other dietitians. Treats patients with complex nutritional deficiencies, determines the extent and duration of diet therapy, and instructs patients and families in appropriate diet upon discharge. Designs and implements nutritional care plans for patients at nutritional risk, provides ongoing care, monitors progress, and offers counseling and follow-up. Oversees the activities of the Diet Technician and provides educational sessions to staff, healthcare professionals, and the community on current nutrition topics.

  3. Demonstrates competence appropriate to role and age-specific care and nutrition management.
  4. Delivers quality care within the scope of practice.
  5. Provides comprehensive education to patients and families, with documentation of progress.
  6. Uses effective delegation, supervision, and decision-making skills for a defined patient group.
  7. Provides evidence-based education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and the community.
  8. Ensures compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
  9. Promotes collaboration and teamwork within the healthcare team.
  10. Communicates effectively to meet organizational goals and customer service expectations.
  11. Maintains current knowledge and skills through professional development.
  12. Promotes resource utilization efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Engages in performance improvement activities to enhance care delivery.
  14. Embeds core organizational values into performance.
  15. Participates in research activities related to nutrition.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree with six years recent experience or Master's degree with four years experience as a clinical dietitian.

Minimum Experience:

  • 6+ years recent experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 years with a Master's degree.

Required Courses/Training and Certifications:

  • Registered Dietitian certification.
  • For Endocrinology: Certification as a Diabetes Educator.
  • For pediatric service: CCS Panel provider or application within 60 days of hire.
  • Board Certification as a Specialist in Oncology Nutrition, Diabetes Educator, or Nutrition Support Clinician.
