*Responsibilities*

As our Clinical Dietitian II, you will assess the nutritional status of our patients using recognized assessment tools. You will take great pride in recommending and counseling patients, their families, and caregivers on the appropriate nutrition plan to improve their health and well-being.

Every day, you will routinely work with patients with high acuity (e.g., pediatric, bariatric, ICU, etc.) who require advanced competency to provide expert-level care and nutrition therapy. You will perform nutritional assessments using age and gender-appropriate standards and cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. You will conduct routine screenings to identify patients at nutritional risk and collaborate within an interdisciplinary environment to contribute to facilitating care, all while demonstrating excellent customer service to patients, families, and caregivers.

In addition, you will take your skills to the next level by modeling and training Clinical Dietitian I’s in the core behaviors and responsibilities of the department and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develops an intervention plan which includes appropriate feeding route, mode, and nutrition prescription unique to patients' specific needs, in accordance with physicians' orders.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient response to interventions by meeting specific measurable goals documented in the nutrition care plan in a timely and thorough manner in the medical record.
  • Updates plan of care as necessary and follows up with the patient as needed.
  • Performs business functions, such as management of resources in a cost-effective manner, and participates in compliance and quality performance improvement efforts to ensure that nutrition care is safe and effective.
  • Collaborates with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance patient experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with completion of accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics).
  • Two (2) years acute hospital experience working with patients in more complex levels of care to specialized populations (e.g. pediatric, bariatric, ICU, etc.).
  • Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Preferred: Critical unit, TPN, micros and macros experience.
