A healthcare facility in Maine seeks a Clinical Dietitian to assess patient nutritional needs and develop care plans. This full-time position requires a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition (Master's preferred) and involves collaboration with a nutrition care team. The Clinical Dietitian assesses nutritional needs; develops and implements nutritional care plans and evaluates and reports these results appropriately. Participates in on-going education programs for hospital staff and the community; participates as an integral part of the nutrition care team in assigned and covered areas; coordinates activities with the needs of the department’s management team; shares on-call responsibilities on a rotating weekly basis during non-scheduled working hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays). The Clinical Dietitian I is able to begin to lay and build on the foundation of progressive problem solving and apply both scientific and theoretical knowledge to the care of patients. Consistently demonstrates competence in skills, problem solving, and priority setting.
Experienced candidates may be eligible to be hired as a clinical dietitian II or dietitian III. May hire a new graduate with an expectation to pass the RDN exam within 6 months of hire. Failure to pass the exam within 6 months will result in termination or movement to an alternate role within the department, if available, until the RDN exam is passed.
