Job description

Job Title: Clinical Dietitian I

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a Clinical Dietitian I to utilize the Nutrition Care Process for assessing, evaluating, and providing Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition counseling to patients at our North Liberty Medical Campus.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide quality patient care, including nutrition screening, evaluation, assessment, treatment, and documentation of care plans tailored to patients.
  2. Educate and evaluate students through on-the-job training, providing necessary support to ensure completion of work.
  3. Assess nutritional status and counsel patients on appropriate diets.
  4. Collaborate with the medical team on issues affecting patients' food habits and needs; participate in health team rounds.
  5. Assist with the implementation of studies and short-term projects.
  6. Perform special projects as assigned.
  7. Participate actively in departmental and hospital committees.
  8. Review and analyze production, standards, costs, and personnel records to evaluate progress and control costs.
  9. Maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
  10. Exercise functional supervision over Diet Clerks.
  11. Assist other dietitians as needed.
About the New North Liberty Campus

Opening in Spring 2025, this state-of-the-art 469,000 sq ft facility will house UI Health Care’s renowned Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive outpatient, inpatient, and surgical care. It will include a community imaging center, laboratory, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, emergency department, and more, designed to enhance patient and staff experience and support our missions of care, teaching, and research.

Position Details

We are hiring for either Clinical Dietitian I (Requisition 25001373) or Clinical Dietitian II (Requisition 25001375) based on qualifications. Please apply to the relevant position or both.

Percent of Time: 100%

Pay Grade: 5 UI Pay Plans

Salary: $57,000 – Commensurate

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Master's Degree or equivalent education and experience

  • Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient care across various medical conditions
