Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital West Campus is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to assess the nutritional needs of pediatric patients, develop and implement nutrition care plans, and communicate recommendations in a developmentally appropriate manner. The position requires a Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred), RD from CDR, and Texas LD license; pediatric nutrition experience is a plus.

You will work with the care team to optimize patient outcomes and document care in the medical record.

Qualifications

• RD credential from CDR is required.
• Texas LD license is required.

Responsibilities

Clinical Dietitian – Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus

We are searching for a Clinical Dietitian who works well in a fast‑paced setting. In this position, you will assess the nutritional needs of patients, develop and implement nutritional care plans, and communicate information to those in need in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for the ages of the patients served.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Certified Registered Dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Licensed Dietitian (LD) from the Texas Department of Licensing.
• Pediatric nutrition experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate patient nutritional care plans.
• Provide age‑appropriate education to support the nutritional plan of care and assess learning needs and readiness of all patients and families.
• Collaborate with other professionals to integrate and communicate nutrition principles that enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in and interpret research to enhance clinical practices.
• Document nutrition care effectively within medical records and utilize SBAR techniques to facilitate handoffs to different levels of care or providers.
• Contribute to departmental development and visibility by actively participating in review and revision of nutrition‑related resources, policies and procedures.
