Compensation Range: $70,000 - $79,000 per year
Note: Compensation will depend on geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for overseeing the dietary component in tandem with the Center For Discovery Clinical Model.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with each patient weekly to implement and manage individualized dietary meal plans, including conducting weekly calorie counts.
• Conduct Dietary Intake on admission.
• Complete documentation on each client’s progress throughout treatment, ensuring daily notes reflect treatment goals.
• Facilitate nutrition groups suitable for adult and adolescent groups.
• Implement one dietary treatment plan for each client within a week of admission.
• Communicate with referring and outpatient treatment teams throughout the patient's treatment.
• Oversee Diet Techs to encourage supportive mealtimes and monitor supplementation.
• Collaborate with the Director of Dietary Services and the treatment team to ensure high standards of nutrition and dietary services.
• Enforce dietary programs and advise clients on food choices.
• Understand medical consequences of eating disorders, re-feeding hazards, and how to avoid complications.
• Implement specific dietary exchange patterns based on portion size and caloric recommendations.
• Facilitate family sessions and education, including therapeutic meals as appropriate.
• Communicate with medical doctors and psychiatrists regarding medical or dietary concerns.
• Remain accessible to family members, including weekly communication with parents of adolescents.
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed (residential care only).

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 11 am - 7 pm, at our Glendale, CA program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in dietetics and completed accredited dietetic internship.
• Preferred one year experience in dietary counseling.
• Must be fully registered/certified in the state. Candidates who have completed their dietetic internship and are eligible to take the registration exam may be considered.
• Thorough knowledge of nutrition and dietary interventions in mental health.
