Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Clinical Dietitian (NS) to assess the nutritional status of offenders across state prisons and to make recommendations on medical nutrition therapy. The role requires proficiency in Medical Nutrition Therapy, and the ability to communicate findings in writing and orally.

You will train food service and medical staff, serve as liaison between Food Management and Medical Departments to ensure therapeutic diet orders meet policy, and use MS Word, Excel,

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy and how it relates to chronic diseases.
• Proficiency in assessing nutritional status.
• Experience developing workshops and in-services including researching, organizing agendas, developing handouts, presenting programs and evaluating outcomes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional status of offenders across prisons and make recommendations for medical nutrition therapy.
• Provide in-service training for food service and medical staff on nutrition.
• Serve as liaison between Food Management and Medical Departments to ensure therapeutic diet orders comply with policy.
• Document program activities and outcomes using MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
