The Clinical Dietitian Bariatric Program in Albany, NY, provides comprehensive nutrition care to patients across the organization, with emphasis on malnutrition risk assessment and treatment. Job description

Department/Unit: HBD - Surgery Bariatric. Work Shift: Day (United States of America). Salary Range: $59,066.00 - $88,599.00. Clinical Dietitian Bariatric Program Albany, NY

Responsible for providing comprehensive, high quality nutrition care to patients throughout the organization. Primary area of focus includes the assessment and care of patients determined to be malnourished or at risk for malnutrition. Staff will serve as role models by practicing exemplary behaviors when working with patients, visitors and fellow staff members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Maintain ethics standards within the professional and hospital guidelines.
• Design and implements individualized nutrition care plans for hospitalized and ambulatory patients across the life span, considering cultural and religious diversity.
• Prioritizes patient caseload based on assigned level of risk.
• Collaborates daily with interdisciplinary care teams on nutrition care plan development in the context of the medical management.
• May be asked to assist with orientation and training of new level 1 dietitians and nutrition assistants.
• Provides cross-coverage of RD assignments as needed.
• Participates in weekend & holiday clinical nutrition coverage.
• Complete productivity data.
• Participates in clinical team by providing input to team decisions, facilitating open communication among the group, and by attending all team meetings.
• Participates in service-specific graduate medical education and other educational opportunities (after 1 year).
• Assists with data collection and projects as requested.
• Practices within the ADA scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered Dietitian as delineated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Maintenance of continuing education requirements for dietetic registration.
• Experience (see also competency based objectives and level advancement criteria).
