Inpatient Clinical Dietitian

Lake Region Healthcare is seeking a full time Inpatient Clinical Dietitian to join our Nutrition Services team in a fun, fast-paced environment that provides nourishing food to our patients, fellow employees, and visitors. This is a great opportunity for new graduates, and experienced Dietitians, to work with a variety of patients, with no on-call, weekends, or holidays!

• Location: Lake Region Healthcare Corporation – Fergus Falls, MN 56537
• Position Type: Full time
• Hours: 72 hours biweekly, day shifts Monday–Friday, no on‑call, weekends or holidays
• Salary: $30.48 – $40.97 per hour (final wage based on experience and qualifications)
• Sign‑on bonus: $20,000 with a two‑year work commitment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutritional care to patients with various disease states and medical conditions
• Monitor, assess, and optimize patients’ nutritional status based on medical condition and needs
• Collaborate with physicians and other health‑care professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional care
• Make recommendations for enteral (tube) and parenteral (IV) nutrition support and dietary supplementation
• Allocate time between inpatient care and Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation Program participants
• Partner with Food Services as a subject‑matter expert to manage menu software and verify nutritional labeling accuracy in the café
• Maintain patient confidentiality and work independently while interacting with patients, nurses, physicians, department directors, hospital staff, families, and the public

Qualifications

• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Minnesota RD license (or requirement to obtain MN licensing within three months of hire)
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition
• Certification in Diabetes Education or Weight Management preferred (or willingness to acquire within two years)
• Food Safety certification or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
• Excellent interpersonal communication and decision‑making skills
• Computer proficiency: WordPerfect and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding food safety and sanitation
• Visual acuity required for inspection of data and written materials
• Successful completion of pre‑employment health screening
• Ability to attend work site per schedule; travel to outreach clinics possible
