Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Clinical Dietitian for a Flexi Day shift. You will identify, diagnose, and prevent malnutrition in accordance with clinical practice standards and perform nutrition-focused physical exams, attending multidisciplinary rounds.

You will conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments within department time frames, document in EMR, and support education for patients, families, and staff while participating in MDRs and ICU rounds.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) should be obtained within 6 months of hire. Verification statements required for candidates awaiting RD credentialing.
• If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.

Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive nutrition assessment within department approved time frames and documentation within department time frames. Performs nutrition focused physical exam when appropriate. Performs malnutrition diagnosis in accordance with ASPEN/AND criteria and documents accordingly in EMR. Follow-up per department policy time frames. Participates in multidisciplinary patient focused meetings including MDRs, ICU rounds. Meets expectations by providing evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams in direct patient care. Patient/family and staff education.

Certification/Licensure

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full‑time employment is $72,051.20 - $105,768.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full‑time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
