Job summary

Gennte Technologies is seeking a Dietitian in Juneau, AK to integrate nutrition care within the Medical Nutrition Services team. You will collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to develop patient-specific plans and ensure culturally appropriate care for Alaska Native/American Indian populations.

Responsibilities include ongoing literature review, on-call availability, and maintaining current scientific knowledge in nutrition to promote optimal health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from a CADE-accredited program.
• Licensure as a dietitian in Alaska or able to obtain within six months of hire.
• BLS certification; clinical nutrition competency; board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutrition care to inpatients and outpatients within Medical Nutrition Services.
• Coordinate nutritional care with the health care team, including literature searches when needed.
• Prioritize time across food service, short-term admissions, and interdisciplinary coordination.

The Dietitian position exists to function within the Medical Nutrition Services department. This position serves as part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide patient care that is integrated, compatible with the patient-focused medical goals and culturally appropriate in accordance with facility's strategic goals.
Performs in a professional manner and respects confidentiality. Required to make daily decisions on nutritional management about a wide range of clinical problems for both inpatients and outpatients. This necessitates keeping up to date in all clinical areas to manage daily problems as well as on call. Complex problems may require literature searches, consultation with medical staff, other dietitians, as well as other health professionals to determine a management plan. They must prioritize their time within the constraints of food service, short-term admissions and coordination of nutritional care with other members of the health care team. Responsible for maintaining and applying current scientific knowledge about food and nutrition to individuals and groups in states of health and disease to promote optimal health outcomes within the social, economic and cultural context of the Alaska Native/American Indian population in accordance with facility's primary objectives and the policies and procedures of the medical nutrition services department.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

• Master's Degree from school whose Nutrition, Dietetic, Institutional Management Programs is accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA)
• Dietetic Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure from the State of Alaska, professional licensing required within six months of hire if not already obtained.
• Certification in any dietetic specialty is preferred.
• Basic Life Support.
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years

Experience Required

• Completion of an approved dietetic internship program.
• 1 year of experience as a clinical dietitian is preferred.
