The Clinical Dietitian I (CD I) provides evidenced-based nutrition care to patients/families using practices skill which satisfy the needs/concerns of assigned patients. The CD I can formulate and implement an individualized nutrition care plan using current medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and works/collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team, within Cook Childrens Health Care System (CCHCS). The CD I contributes to nutrition care decisions that lead to positive outcomes and is an effective educator, to patient, family/caregivers, and staff. The CD I addresses routine problems in the work environment by providing assistance or referring these to other, more experienced team members. The CD I prioritizes workload, delivers nutrition care to assigned patients, and discusses/assists/advocates for the nutritional care needs of the patient/family. Ability to manage daily workload, identify routine problems in the work area, and solve problems with advance/assistance from other is required. Provides professional guidance to in/outpatients, staff, outside agencies, students, and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. This position receives oversight by the Clinical Nutrition Manager.
Bachelor (required) or Master (preferred) of Science.
0-2 years of experience required.
Pediatric experience preferred.
Must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensed by the State of Texas within six months of hire date.
Heart Saver CPR certification required.
BLS CPR preferred.
