St. Tammany Health System in Covington is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for admitted patients. Responsibilities include assessing patients, creating nutrition care plans, and participating in community programs and health fairs.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and is registered or eligible for registration. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Shift time: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm with weekend and holiday rotations
Responsible for the Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for admitted patients. Tasks include screening and assessing patients, nutrition care plans, patient visitations, nutrition education, department in‑services, community programs and health fairs, and assisting in other areas related to the Food and Nutrition department. Assist with service recovery for patients and guests.
Must be able to work anytime weekdays, weekends, and holidays between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. This position is considered non-essential during emergency conditions. Exhibits consistent customer/patient focus showing courtesy and respect. Consistently exceeds customers’ expectation. Willingness to comply with dress code, CARES, and HACCP standards. Must be able to think logically and make decisions based on experience and training. Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills. Computer technology skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
One year experience preferred.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 10 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
