The Dentist supervises, consults, refers, and instructs Dental Hygiene Students.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and be present during all clinic sessions.
- Handle medical emergencies during clinic hours.
- Prescribe medication as needed.
- Administer local anesthesia when appropriate.
- Answer questions from students and patients.
- Serve as authority to dental hygiene faculty/staff on dental matters.
- Identify treatments for medically compromised patients.
- Identify pathologies and make referrals—medical and/or dental.
- Refer patients for follow-up treatment.
- Prescribe pit and fissure sealants as needed.
- Identify and evaluate lesions, anomalies, or deviations from normal.
- Review radiographs and diagnose accordingly.
- Review patient health histories and refer to physicians as necessary.
- Evaluate students during patient care.
- Provide consulting services and review treatment plans with patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Minimum of five years experience as a dentist.
- Appropriate state license.
- Prior experience in education preferred.

Hourly rate ranges from $75 to $77 based on experience and education.
