Job description

Job Summary: The Clinical Data Quality Specialist is a key member of the Client Services team, supporting clinical leads, abstractors, and clients through various quality tasks.

Essential Functions:

1. Orient the abstraction team to medical records.
2. Perform initial re-abstractions for new team members (Greenlighting).
3. Provide re-education to abstractors to improve quality and technology use.
4. Manage weekly ongoing IRR to meet quality standards.
5. Assist with fallout reviews and second looks.
6. Support case abstraction assignment under the guidance of the Team Leader.
7. Perform harvest submissions as needed.
8. Participate in client calls as required.
9. Complete assigned abstractions.
10. Roles and responsibilities may evolve over time to meet organizational growth.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• At least 1 year of abstraction experience within the GWTG Stroke Registry.
• Intermediate MS Office skills.
• Experience with multiple EMRs and clinical databases.
• Passion for training and providing constructive feedback.
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle ambiguity.
• Maintain PHI security and confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Over 1 year of experience in quality data abstraction in the assigned service line.
