Position Overview

N-Power Medicine is hiring an Oncology Clinical Data Abstractor/Curator IV. This position is remote within the United States. This position will have a fundamental role in collecting and maintaining comprehensive and accurate cancer data used to pre-screen candidates for clinical trials.

You will be a part of a dynamic data abstraction team with the opportunity to impact the future of clinical research and improve patients’ lives, while growing professionally at a dynamic, fast-growing, start-up organization.

You will contribute to the development of our platform by collaborating with our data and software teams to accelerate and innovate our platform and the collection of quality, regulatory-grade clinical data.

Role Objectives And Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, curate and distribute quality data sets from various EHR platforms
  • Ensure compliance and confidentiality with Company’s and site’s policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Participate in the continual improvement of processes by providing feedback and recommendations pertaining to abstraction workflows, user experience, educational resources, features, and tools
  • Provide input into process checks and interface with quality management and biostatistics to resolve data issues
  • Mentoring and training of new and existing team members
  • Involvement with data quality assurance activities
  • May assist with monitoring and prioritizing case assignments and team productivity
  • Champion technology advancements for internal workflow improvement
  • Availability during core business hours with flexibility to attend weekly team and company meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned


Education, Experience, Behavioral Competencies, & Skills

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with oncology data abstraction/curation from health information systems utilizing industry standard data ontologies
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • You are a Oncology/Hematology RN/LPN, or Clinical Research Associate (CRA), or certified in an NCRA Accredited Program or comparable professional experience, preferred
  • Experience in both solid tumor and hematologic malignancy abstraction
  • Experience abstracting cancer genomic testing data, required
  • Experience with OncoEMR and/or EPIC, preferred
  • Ability to navigate electronic health records (EHRs) and follow proprietary guidance documents to curate a comprehensive data set including, but not limited to, the history, diagnosis, treatment, and disease status for cancer patients
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize in complex and fast-evolving environments and a drive to get things done
  • Technical savvy and a strong desire to learn new systems and technology
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Team player who enjoys a collaborative environment, with ability to problem solve and provide constructive and articulate feedback
  • Excellent oral/written communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire to drive a paradigm change in clinical research conduct and improve the quality of care for cancer patients
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and FDA regulated clinical trials research requirements, preferred
  • Ability to work in a HIPAA-compliant home office
  • Excellent oral/written communication & interpersonal skills

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 5% of time required to travel in role (out of 100%)

The expected hourly range for this position is $35.00 and $41.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. N-Power Medicine (NPM) offers equity at hire as well as a discretionary annual bonus which may be available based on Company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits at 30+ hours/week.
