Clinical Counselor Job Summary
The Clinical Counselor is responsible for providing mental health assessment and counseling intervention services, as well as continually monitoring and documenting clients’ mental well-being and overall adjustment to the Unaccompanied Minors program. Clinical Counselors work as primary mental health caregivers for the client. The Clinical Counselor functions are performed as part of a multi-disciplinary team and include development and implementation of client therapeutic plans, facilitating transfers, and reunification planning in compliance with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) regulations and guidelines.

Working Conditions/ Physical Effort
The Clinical Counselor is subject to work extended hours and weekends, and to be on-call. Work is performed mostly in an office setting. Some overnight travel, public speaking, evening and weekend work are requirements of the position. Regular computer works also required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; reach; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
