Job Summary: Promotes the mission of Jackson County Memorial Hospital. The Clinical Therapist develops, maintains and implements comprehensive prevention and treatment programs to meet the counseling needs of EAP clientele as well as the community. Must be capable and qualified as Oklahoma State Law and JCAHO requires and trained to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas
  • Seeks case consultation with the supervisor while maintaining the highest ethical standards regarding client confidentiality and self-determination.
  • Channels suggestions, criticism and questions to the appropriate person.
  • Completes the initial treatment plan for each client within 24 hours of the client contact and the comprehensive treatment plan by the 6th visit.
  • Completes client notes (including the CPT codes and charge codes) in the EHR at the end of each day.
  • Completes diagnostic assessment within 24 hours of contact with the client.
  • Consults with the Director regarding the release of information and subpoenas.
  • Maintains privacy of all client information by securely storing any paper documents at the end of each day.
  • Makes referrals to community agencies to ensure continuity of care, while at all times maintaining confidentiality of the client.
  • Obtains signatures and releases of information as needed from each client.
  • Completes Sooner Care (Medicaid) forms in a timely manner.
  • Provides therapeutic intervention services to clients averaging 20 client contact hours per 40-hour week.
  • Participates in community outreach efforts providing workshops and consultation in the community with the approval of the Director.
  • Completes Psychosocial by client’s 3rd visit and charts progress notes within 2 working days of client’s appointment.
  • Takes part in educational in‑services through participation or direct responsibility.
  • Provides crisis intervention for hospital staff when requested.
  • Shows flexibility in work hours and duties as needed.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas
  • Effectively promotes Clinical Counseling Department and the hospital EAP in a positive manner. Supports the goals and mission of JCMH and displays a positive attitude toward the hospital to the public.
  • Reports for work on time and notifies Director when necessary to be gone or arrive late for genuine reasons.
  • Keeps all licenses and certifications current. Completes all annual employee requirements prior to evaluation date.
  • Interacts with physicians, other staff members, clients and their families in a professional, cooperative and courteous manner.
  • Develops and maintains a positive, professional working relationship with other community agencies.
  • Gives input to annual budget based on department needs and available hospital resources.
  • Ensures promptness in seeing clients and limits sessions to one hour.
  • Demonstrates a professional manner in the workplace.
Requirements
Education/Regulatory Requirements & Experience
  • Masters Degree in Social Work/Psychology or related field.
  • Post‑graduate supervised clinical practice required.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years’ previous acceptable experience with mental health population, referral, and direct practice required.
  • Must maintain current licensure as either a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or other comparable licensure.
  • Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.
