Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to oversee professional nursing care for patients and families, directing RNs and support staff. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, education, performance evaluation, and collaboration with the unit director to maintain Mercy Service Standards.

The ideal candidate has an accredited nursing education, an active RN license, at least 2 years in a charge/coordination role, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current registered nurse license in the state of practice.
  • At least 2 years of experience in charge/clinical coordinator setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, students and non-professional staff in delivering direct patient care.
  • Oversee operation of the unit to ensure regulatory requirements and standards are met.
  • Participate in education and development of personnel and performance evaluations as directed by the unit director.
  • Collaborate to uphold Mercy Service Standards and maintain quality patient care.

Responsible for operation of the Unit ensuring that all regulatory requirements and standards are being fulfilled. Participates in the education and development of personnel and performance evaluation as well as other administrative duties as designated by the Director of the unit. Must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, be dedicated to the provision of quality patient care and use sound judgment in decision making. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Certification/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS)

At least 2 years of experience. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge. Organizing and coordinating skills. Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community. Advanced assessment skills.
