Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator III Physician Assistant will work in the Center for Liver Disease & Transplantation within the Division of Abdominal Organ Transplantation in the Department of Surgery. The position involves collaboration with medical staff, data managers, nurses, social workers, and financial coordinators. The role includes seeing patients at outreach sites and requires appropriate state licenses.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate medical and surgical management of liver program patients.
  • Conduct evaluations and consultations.
  • Educate patients and staff about liver disease and transplantation.
  • Manage immunosuppressant and other medications, respond to lab results.
  • Provide telephone medical advice and liaise with primary physicians.
  • Participate in outpatient on-call duties, patient care meetings, and rounds.
  • Assist with prior authorizations for medications and tests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited or NYS-approved PA program.
  • 5 years nursing or related experience.
  • Current NYS PA License and NCCPA Certification.
  • BLS and DEA Certifications.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, experience with EMR.
Other Requirements
  • Proficiency with technology and social media platforms.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
