Join to apply for the Clinical Coordinator III - NP role at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator Nurse Practitioner will work in the Center for Liver Disease & Transplantation within the Division of Abdominal Organ Transplantation in the Department of Surgery. The position will work under the direction of the Medical and Surgical Directors of CLDT, in collaboration with attending surgical and medical staff, data managers, outpatient nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, and financial coordinators. The role involves seeing patients at outreach sites in the tri-state area and obtaining necessary state licenses.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate overall medical and surgical management of patients being evaluated and treated by the liver program.
  • Conduct new evaluations and consultations.
  • Provide education about liver disease and transplantation for patients and medical center staff.
  • Manage immunosuppressant and medication regulation based on laboratory results.
  • Provide telephone medical advice and interact with patients and primary physicians.
  • Participate in outpatient on-call responsibilities in rotation with other NPs, PAs, and physicians.
  • Participate in patient care and education meetings and inpatient rounds.
  • Assist in prior authorizations for medications and radiology testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of nursing or related experience.
  • RN and NP licenses in NYS; ANCC Board Certification.
  • BLS and DEA certifications.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills and experience with EMR systems.
Additional Requirements

Proficiency with technology and social media, effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
