Position Summary

Are you a Physician Assistant seeking an exciting, impactful role in a prestigious medical setting? Columbia Irving Medical Center's Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is looking for a compassionate, organized, and motivated Clinical Coordinator II - Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team. This full-time position offers an incredible opportunity to work within the Division of Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for new head and neck cancer patients, offering them personalized care coordination and facilitating follow-up care.
  • Play an integral role in reconstructive surgeries, especially those related to head and neck cancer, facial paralysis, and skin cancer.
  • Be involved in cutting-edge treatments, including medical and cosmetic laser applications – a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to expand their expertise in this area.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including allied oncology fields, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, dermatology, and occupational therapy, to provide holistic care for our patients.
  • Receive hands-on training to become proficient in caring for patients with complex head and neck cancer care and advanced reconstruction surgery.
  • Mentorship from experienced attending surgeons in head and neck surgical oncology and reconstructive surgery.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited or New York State Education Department approved PA education program.
  • Board Certification
  • New York State Physician Assistant License.
  • Current (or eligible for) New York State DEA license.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification (if applicable).
  • 4 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in cosmetic practice or oncology is beneficial but not required. We value candidates who bring empathy, organizational skills, and a passion for patient care.
  • This position is ideal for Physician Assistants seeking to build expertise in reconstructive surgery and head and neck oncology.
  • ACLS, PALS (if applicable) Certification.
Other Requirements
  • Excellent clinical skills in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, with strong communication skills and understanding of patient confidentiality.
