Purpose and Scope

Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, and core values. Ensures quality patient care and maintains cost-effective clinical operations in compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements. As the Charge Nurse, manages daily decisions to ensure continuity of care, staff and patient safety, and oversees quality outcomes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide guidance, support, and feedback to staff; participate in staffing, hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
2. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
3. Manage staff scheduling and approve time off in the absence of the Facility Administrator.
4. Participate in patient care planning and team meetings.
5. Maintain current knowledge of dialysis practices; train and orient staff as needed.
6. Supervise patient care activities, promote safety, and ensure adherence to policies.
7. Conduct staff meetings and discuss personnel and patient care issues with the Facility Administrator.
8. Supervise documentation and coordinate duties with relief Charge RNs.
9. Assess patient needs, respond to treatments, and communicate with physicians.
10. Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and act as a resource for staff.
11. Oversee care plans, patient admissions, and education on dialysis and related topics.
12. Supervise equipment use and perform testing and procedures as per manuals.
13. Assist with staff recruitment, participate in quality assurance, and support special projects.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Includes desk work, patient interaction, travel between facilities, and exposure to healthcare environment and infectious materials.

Supervision

Direct supervision of Patient Care Staff and Ward Clerk.

Education and Experience

• RN from an accredited school; licensed in the state.
• Minimum 12 months nursing experience plus 6 months in dialysis care.
• Preferred: Medical/surgical experience, supervisory experience, CPR certification, good communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $23 - $71. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and potential bonuses.
