Sacramento Ultrasound Institute (SUI) prepares students for careers in diagnostic imaging and allied health through focused education, hands-on training, and real-world clinical experience. The institute offers programs in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiac Sonography, Invasive Cardiovascular Technology, MRI Technology, and Radiologic Technology, all designed to build strong clinical skills and confidence in patient care. Students learn from experienced healthcare professionals and train in healthcare settings across Northern California. SUI is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), and several programs hold programmatic accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Role Description

The Clinical Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Sacramento, CA, responsible for overseeing and coordinating clinical education for students in diagnostic imaging and allied health programs. This position manages clinical schedules, placements, and rotation assignments, ensuring that students meet program and accreditation requirements. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a liaison between SUI, clinical sites, and students, maintaining strong relationships with clinical partners and addressing day-to-day issues that arise in clinical settings. They monitor student performance and professionalism, provide guidance and feedback, and collaborate with faculty to align clinical objectives with classroom instruction. Additional responsibilities include maintaining clinical documentation, supporting accreditation and compliance activities, contributing to program improvement, and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate with students, faculty, and clinical site staff.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Critical Care Medicine and Medicine, with a solid understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare standards, and safety practices relevant to diagnostic imaging and allied health.
  • Candidates should possess Patient Care skills, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality, compassionate care and appropriate professional conduct in clinical environments.
  • Candidates should possess Research skills, including the ability to gather and interpret data, support evidence-based practices, and contribute to continuous program improvement.
  • Relevant qualifications include prior clinical or allied health experience, preferably in diagnostic imaging or cardiovascular technology; experience coordinating clinical education or academic programs; and familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., ABHES, CAAHEP).
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include a degree or certification in an allied health or imaging discipline, strong organizational and time-management skills, proficiency with scheduling and documentation systems, and a demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success.
