Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a professional medical coder to facilitate compliant coding and documentation for accurate diagnosis, E/M and CPT code assignments. You will monitor medical record content to ensure regulatory compliance and provide provider education on documentation improvements.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, at least 2 years in professional coding, and CPC or CCS-P certification. Strong communication skills and EMR proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred in health information management.
• Certification CPC or CCS-P required; physician coding certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a professional coding role with ICD-10-CM, CPT, CM, HCPCS experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to educate providers on documentation standards.
• Experience with multiple EMR systems and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate assignment of diagnosis, CPT codes and E/M levels.
• Monitor documentation to meet industry guidelines and regulations.
• Provide provider feedback and education on documentation improvement.
• Support coding education initiatives across the group.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to resolve coding issues.
