Job summary

MUSC Health Atlantic Cardiovascular Associates is seeking qualified Medical Assistant (CMA I) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN I) to support physicians in ambulatory care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting in the EMR, injections and assisting with minor procedures.

This role requires CMA or LPN licensure, BLS certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The position offers full-time hours, day shift, and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• CMA candidates must have HS diploma or equivalent and complete an accredited medical assisting program.
• LPN candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program and licensed in SC.
• CMA/LPN certifications or licensure are required per job specs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate calibrations, cleaning and maintenance of clinical/lab equipment per OSHA etc.
• Maintains and reviews patient records and communicates care plan to patients.
• Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness of patient care environment.
• Schedules appointments and referrals; screens patients and provides education as needed.
• Observes and reports patient condition, responds to calls, and manages medication distribution.
• Assists with exams, procedures, and patient sample collection; administers prescribed treatments.
