Job summary

The Maples is seeking a patient care assistant to support clinicians and therapists in a behavioral healthcare setting. You will help with patient care tasks, monitor safety, and document observations while upholding program policies and routines.

Role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS/certifications. Training on ADLs and behavior management will be provided as part of the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year experience in a clinical setting required; behavioral health preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of The Maples.
• Demonstrates teamwork by carrying out routine tasks within the Maples program.
• Assists clinician with patient care tasks and therapist with therapeutic interventions.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu by following policy.
• Observes patients per prescriber orders; documents findings and reports to shift nurse.
• Conducts and documents safety rounds per policy.
• Provides assistance in managing patients with escalating behavior per hospital policy.
• Documents client activities, vital signs, and observations as assigned by nursing staff.
• Assists patients in completing ADLs as needed (hygiene, grooming, toileting, eating).
• Displays flexibility, positivity, and respect for others; adheres to dress code and attendance.
