Job summary

Seattle Children's is expanding its cell therapy program and seeks a capable professional to support development of a new cell processing laboratory. The role requires adapting methods under GTP/GLP/GMP/FACT standards and performing standardized cell processing and QC of therapeutic products in a regulated setting.

You will also conduct analyses like flow cytometry, contribute to process development, and help prepare reports and SOPs. Opportunities for mentoring junior staff are included.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in a clinical cell therapy laboratory or related setting.
  • Master's degree in applicable field is preferred.
  • Significant experience with processing cell therapy products and flow cytometry is preferred.
  • Experience developing and writing SOPs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform standardized cell processing/manufacturing procedures in a regulated environment.
  • Handle, process, cryopreserve, and QC therapeutic cellular products.
  • Perform analytical testing such as Flow Cytometry and cell counting.
  • Contribute to design/interpretation of process optimization experiments.
  • Prepare reports, regulatory submissions, and draft SOPs for new techniques.
  • Mentor junior staff as needed.

Job description

This is an exciting position supporting the development of a new cell processing laboratory. This intermediate position requires significant understanding and some independent application and adaptation of existing and new scientific methods and knowledge in accordance with GTP, GLP, GMP, and/or FACT standards. Responsible for independently performing standardized cell processing and/or cell manufacturing procedures and techniques in a highly regulated environment for clinical cell therapy applications that are moderately complex and/or with oversight. Involves the handling, processing, cryopreservation, and Quality Control (QC) of therapeutic cellular products. Perform analytical testing such as, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry and cell counting. Substantial contributor to the planning, design, execution, and interpretation of process optimization experiments (process development and/or assay development); makes detailed observations, records data, and assesses the processes and results for reliability/efficacy/compliance. Drives the preparation of reports, regulatory submissions, and the drafting of standard operating procedures for novel techniques. May participate in the guidance/mentoring of junior staff.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.

Minimum to two (2) year's professional experience in clinical cell therapy laboratory and/or related area/laboratory setting.

  • Master's Degree in applicable field/research specialty
  • Significant experience conducting processing of cell therapy products, flow cytometry in the cell therapy setting or other relevant laboratory procedures in area of specialization.
  • Prior experience in the development and writing of Standard Operating Procedures and/or equivalent laboratory documentation.
Compensation Range

$88,786.00 - $133,180.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
