Bonita House, Inc. (BHI) is a nonprofit mental health agency with multiple sites in Alameda County and an operating budget of $14.5 million. BHI provides social rehabilitation including a full range of Medi‑Cal services to adults with co‑occurring serious mental health and substance use disorders.
Under the general direction of the Program Director, the Clinical Case Manager oversees the clinical needs of CalWORKs Phoenix program members. The clinician works within an integrated team, supporting clients’ progress toward greater independence, well‑being, and self‑sufficiency. Services are often provided in office but the manager demonstrates flexibility to meet clients in the community when appropriate, such as library, job, on‑site, and home visits. The role involves maintaining consistent contact, deepening the treatment relationship, assisting clients to identify life goals, and linking them to community resources that support wellness and recovery. The Clinical Case Manager applies motivational interviewing, trauma‑informed care, harm reduction, and abstinence‑based models to teach clients skills for symptom reduction and goal pursuit. Clinical supervision is available.
The role requires periods of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday. Employees may move between offices, program spaces, and meeting areas, including navigating stairs. The position may require travel between agency and partner locations within the Bay Area; reliable transportation is required. Lifting, carrying, or moving items up to 15 pounds occasionally is required. The employee must operate a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment and communicate by telephone and in person.
