Relia nt Medical Group, part of Optum, seeks a Medical Assistant in Worcester, MA to support a cardiology team with back-office tasks and direct patient care. You will prepare rooms, take histories, perform phlebotomy, document in EPIC EMR, and assist with injections and procedures.

The role is full-time, with an 8:30 AM–5:00 PM schedule, and offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits. Growth opportunities exist within the Optum network.

Position Details

Location: Reliant Medical Group, a Part of Optum: 5 Neponset St, Worcester, MA 01606

Department: Cardiology

Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hours/weekly. Monday through Friday, hours between 8:30AM - 5:00PM

This position performs a full range of medical support services while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment & instruments
• Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs
• Document patient care using electronic medical record software
• Perform phlebotomy, urinalysis and handle patient specimen samples
• Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations
• Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing

Required Qualification

• Experience performing medical back-office tasks
• Medical Assistant diploma, technical certification or 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training or current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program or EMT certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA and CMAC), or ability to obtain within 180 days
• CPR certification
• Experience with electronic medical record software (EPIC)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $25.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
