Job summary

SIU Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine to join the Department of Medicine as a full-time faculty member. The role emphasizes clinical care, teaching across the medical education continuum, and involvement in scholarly activities, with a focus on Interventional Electrophysiology.

The incumbent will teach, mentor, and supervise students and residents, participate in policy development with the leadership team, and contribute to departmental conferences and seminars.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Board-certified or ABIM eligibility in Cardiology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Illinois (or Illinois license prior to employment).
• Pre-employment background screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Teach, mentor, and supervise students and residents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead and participate in administrative and policy efforts aligned with strategic direction.
• Deliver lectures, seminars, and rounds for medical students and residents.
• Provide clinical care and procedural supervision in Cardiology and Interventional Electrophysiology.
