Job summary

White Oak Medical Center is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Technician to support maintenance, calibration, repair, and ongoing inspections of clinical equipment. The role includes data integrity for equipment records and collaboration with service technicians to ensure high-quality device performance.

The ideal candidate has an A.S. in electronics or equivalent, 2 years of biomedical tech experience, and strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• A.S. in Electronics, Mechanical Principles or equivalent formal technical training.
• Proficiency to independently perform repairs and planned maintenance on a variety of clinical equipment.
• 2 years experience as Biomedical Technician, hospital experience preferred.
• Effective technical communications skills.
• Ability to work independently and also in a collaborative environment.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in PC skills in a MS Windows environment (e-mail, work order processing, procurement, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification on general biomedical equipment.
• Repair, install, and calibrate general biomedical equipment.
• Inform supervisors of repair status, inspections, and customer concerns.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient and physician data in reporting.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
• Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education.
• Assist with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned.
• Maintain accuracy of the equipment database including inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
• Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan and regulatory compliances.
• Perform Incoming Inspections to maintain complete inventory of medical devices.
