Job summary

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) seeks an experienced Clinical Bioinformatics Specialist in Maryland. The role supports the Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT) within the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at NIH, HHS.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or higher degree in a health or medical sciences field and have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent in the federal service, focusing on semantic resources and AI-enabled

Qualifications

Bachelor's or graduate degree in a medical or health sciences field.
At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 level or equivalent.
Experience guiding data science teams on semantic resources and metadata infrastructure.
Knowledge of BI interoperability standards and AI/ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance on semantic resources and metadata for AI analytics.
Configure semantic infrastructure to expose biomedical content for LLM, RAG and ML pipelines.
Design semantic infrastructure for biomedical knowledgebases (RDF/graphs).
Apply health data standards and FAIR-aligned workflows across platforms.
