Qualifications

  • Au.D. degree from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts.
  • CCC-A certification from ASHA.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of clinical audiology experience.
  • Experience with diagnostic testing and hearing aid dispensing.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to student education and evidence-based practice.

TITLE: Clinical Audiologist
DEPARTMENT: Speech-Language-Hearing Center, Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Department

SUPERVISOR:Andrea Quinn, Speech-Language-Hearing Center, Clinical Director
SCHEDULE: 3 days/24hours a week
HOURLY RATE: $60/ hour

General Statement of Duties:

The Speech-Language-Hearing Center is seeking a qualified and dedicated audiologist to join our clinical team. The clinical audiologist provides diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services to patients across the lifespan and supervises students in a university based clinic.

Responsibilities:
  • 1. Conduct comprehensive audiologic evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, immittance testing and otoacoustic emissions
  • 2. Provide hearing aid evaluations, fittings, programming and follow-up care
  • 3. Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, treatment options and communication strategies
  • 4. Coordinate maintenance of all evaluation and screening equipment and technology
  • 5. Supervise and mentor Worcester State University students
  • 6. Ensure all clinical services adhere to ethical, legal and professional standards (e.g., HIPAA compliance)
  • 7. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • 8. Assist in coordinating clinic services, scheduling and patient care workflows
  • 9. Collaborate with faculty and staff to support clinical education and program goals
  • 10. Lead Audiology Committee Meetings
  • 11. Participate in outreach activities or community education events, as needed
  • 12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
  • 1. Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from an accredited program
  • 2. Current licensure or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • 3. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • 4. Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in audiology
  • 5. Experience with diagnostic testing and hearing aid dispensing
  • 6. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • 7. Commitment to student education and evidence-based clinical practice?
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1. Experience supervising or mentoring students
  • 2. Interest in participating in program development, outreach and interprofessional collaboration
