UNC Health Care System’s UNC Audiology Services – Cary is seeking a full-time Clinical Audiologist to provide outpatient services across multiple locations, focusing on adult patients. The role includes diagnostic assessments, hearing aid and cochlear implant management, and collaboration with ENT specialists.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of academic medical center experience, supervision/teaching skills, and is licensed as an audiologist in NC.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Audiology program.
  • Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • BLS within 3 months of hire date.
  • Audiologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic and advanced diagnostic audiologic evaluations across the lifespan.
  • Interpret and analyze test results to develop patient-centered treatment plans.
  • Counsel patients and families on hearing loss, its impact, and management strategies.
  • Manage the ongoing needs of hearing aid and cochlear implant users, including programming, troubleshooting, and follow-up care.
  • Conduct verification of hearing aid fittings using best-practice technology.
  • Administrate comprehensive cochlear implant evaluations, including aided speech perception testing, and determine candidacy for implantable hearing technologies.
  • Counsel patients on implantable technology options, function, and realistic expectations.
  • Perform diagnostic testing for cochlear implant devices in both clinical and OR settings.
  • Program and manage all available implantable devices in the adult population.
